Pirates from Somalia on Wednesday hijacked a US flagged cargo ship with 20 Americans on board carrying emergency relief for Mombasa, Kenya. The 17,000 ton Maersk Alabama Cargo Ship is the sixth ship being hijacked within a week and the first pirate attack involving a US Flagged ship with 20 American national on board.
